The very first poem I wrote the poem after coming out of an eight-month depression in 1995 -- the depression that led to my diagnosis and treatment after a lifetime disrupted by bipolar disorder -- was

All Hallow's Eve

Now all threatening shadows
open
into warmth and light.

The next one I wrote was the one to the left. The last six years have been an ongoing opening into warmth, light and found art.
