How does the Poetry Committee work?
This page is here to answer your questions! :-)
If you have a question that isn't listed here, email Anitra.
you will get a special prize, and your question will be posted
with the answer!

Basic Rules
We're
here to have fun! These rules are intended only to keep the
list fun for everyone:
-
Respect
copyright. This means not only giving credit for a poem to the
original poet, as I'm sure you will. It also means that nothing
shared on the list gets circulated outside the list unless the
author specifically gives permission.
- Critique only
on invitation. This isn't a workshop list; if you want one, I'll
gladly set that up, too! Some of the members may appreciate feedback
to help polish a poem, and others won't, so please state "feedback
requested" if you want it, and only give such feedback if
it is requested.
- There are
no participation requirements! This is a fun list! But what you
get out of anything is a multiple of what you put in. If you don't
have a poem to post, post a thank you! :-)
- Only one post
*is* required: your introduction. Poetry is intensely personal;
we will be sharing our hearts with each other. It is difficult
to share your heart with strangers, so let's not be strangers!
- We're all
adults, and I don't believe in censorship. If you can reasonably
expect your poem to be upsetting to some members, however, please
provide a warning in the subject line. This includes poems about
abuse, rape or other violence that may be triggering to survivors.
Writing is healing, but we all heal at different paces.
- Please take
care of yourself. If you see a warning about something that you
would find offensive or triggering, don't read the post. We should
have lots more here to read. :-)
Write On!
:D
Procedures
Each
week we will have a theme that you can write on, if you wish.
This is not mandatory! And you can send in any poem on any subject
that you want to share, at any time.
