Customized Navbars
When Webring once more became independent of Yahoo, they kept
the concept of one javascript code command that would call all of the webring
navigation code segments (called "navbars") for an entire page. They
improved on this by untilizing the "noscript" command to add accessibility
for viewers whose browsers don't do javascript, and by making it possible for
the owners of individual webrings to modify their own navbar and make it unique.
I have been slow off the mark in taking advantage of this capability.
At first I modified the ring icon, background color, and border color of the
rings I managed, but otherwise left the bars alone. But I admired some excellent
customized navbars, and finally nerved myself to start duplicating the look
of my original HTML ring navigation tables in Webring navbars.
As I get my navbars customized, I will add copies here.
